This red crater in the Icelandic highlands can easily be missed by passing it without noticing the red color on top. It looks much nicer from the air so better bring a drone with you!

Photography Tips

I prefer taking a top-down image at this location and using my rental car in the image to showcase the scale of this unreal scenery.

Travel Information

I had to park on the road to get the car in a position I like. It's anyways almost impossible to stop here without stopping on the road (it's illegal to leave the gravel road). Make sure to visit in the morning when it's not crowded and don't block the road if traffic occurs.
