Iceland Skáftarhreppur Waterfall

Because of its designation as an “F” road (4WD) most tourists go no further north on F206 than the upper parking lot leading to the highest Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon viewpoint. However when dry, the road is suitable for any vehicle up to Skáftarhreppur. The waterfall looks like a giant waterslide with its wide and shallow bottom.

Travel Information

From the upper parking lot leading to the highest viewpoint of Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon, drive 2.8km north on F206 and turn left on a dirt track. When dry, you can drive about 50km/yards and park. No facilities.
