The fishing huts in Þingeyri are simple, weathered shelters that reflect the village’s deep-rooted connection to the sea. Set against dramatic fjord landscapes, they offer a glimpse into Iceland’s traditional fishing life and quiet coastal charm.

Photography Tips

If there is the beautiful northern lights around, I also recommend to take a interval shooting mode to have photos all put together as single files but also having the chance to create a time lapse in the end.

Travel Information

This remote area is quite hard to get to in the winter month. You either fly to Isafjordur and have the chance of traveling around by local car rentals or you drive all the way from Reykjavik. Always check the road conditions as well as the weather since this area is super tricky!
