Iceland Stjórnafoss

Easy accessible waterfall, not busy, just off the N1.

Stjórnarfoss is a picturesque and relatively hidden waterfall located in South Iceland, near the small town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. It's a peaceful and scenic spot, perfect for travelers looking to escape the crowds of more famous Icelandic waterfalls like Skógafoss or Seljalandsfoss.

On warm summer days, locals and tourists sometimes swim in the pool at the base of the falls.

There's a charming campsite nearby, where visitors can enjoy the soothing sound of the waterfall overnight.

Later in the day, close to dawn, the place was empty.
