Indonesia The Ulun Danu Temple Boat

This is a holy Balinese temple located near the Bedugul mountain lake resort. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and sits on the lake. Very touristic place (actually not that recommended). But, when you have a guide that can get you to this place before sunrise are during sunset, I can see this being a nice spot.

Be creative so as not to get the tourists in your frame. They are everywhere.. on the water even. And everybody needs a selfie :P
Come in the morning, before sunrise, to catch the mist rising from the water.
Great spot for long exposure as the temple sits on a lake. It was raining when I took this 120-second exposure using an ND1000 filter, hence thought it would look better in black and white. Take the shot on the right side of the temple for maximum reflection. A wide angle lens is preferable to get more of the location in the scene. Be there very early in the morning as the water is much more still and calm. Later during the day it can get very touristy with boats and other water sport activity on the lake.

It can be confusing to find the entry to the temple if you drive here. I always use Google Maps or Waze when going anywhere, and it will take you to an easy and alternate entry from a hotel property next door. Just park at the end as Google Maps directed and take the 1-minute walk next door to the temple.
