Sunrise, sunrise, sunrise.
if you go during the winter you'll have amazing skies. if you go at summer you'll have stars.
Every time you go there there are different salt formations. This points to a general area, just bring a flashlight, park along the way, go around look for salt formation. arrive at least an hour and a half before sunrise to find nice salt formations. there are salt formations that are much more beautiful than in these photos, but i settled for these because i didnt have much time before the sunrise. Bring good shoes and watch your step when you approach the water, you could make the salt and slip. bring a tripod and enjoy an amazing view.

Easy to get there. You can scout for spots that are southern of the gas station (theres only one gas station along the road that surrounds the dead sea from the west)
