To cut it short - yes, sometimes you have to get lucky. I knew where the sun would rise and picked my spot the evening before accordingly. When I got up in the morning and saw a totally clear sky I knew I was in for something special.

It’s a very sketchy spot so don’t rush anything and watch your step.

Travel Information

Use the Tre Cime parking lot and walk around for like 1,5-2 hours until you reach the „Dreizinnenhütte“. There is a mountain behind it with lots of caverns where you can also sleep in. The ridge is pretty hard to find so keep your eyes open.
