Italy Inside Teatro la Fenice, Venice
On 29 January 1996, La Fenice was destroyed by fire. Only the acoustics were preserved, as Lamberto Tronchin, an Italian acoustician, had measured the acoustics two months earlier. After various delays, reconstruction began in 2001. La Fenice was rebuilt in the 19th-century style according to a design by the architect Aldo Rossi.
