Italy Snake road, Giau pass
The Giau Pass is a high mountain pass connecting Cortina with Colle Santa Lucia and Selva di Cadore. The Snake Road, one of its winding curves resembling a snake, offers an amazing view, especially in snowy conditions. It’s an iconic spot for any photographer visiting the Dolomites and a must-add to any photography list.
Photography Tips
The image was shot in January. It is worth shooting during every season with different surrounding landscapes.
You can go between the trees with the drone to get this perspective. It's best to sit in the passenger seat or let yourself be dropped off at the top of the holding bay.

Travel Information
Drive up to Giau Pass and you will find it on the way up. Parking is available in a lay-by off the mountain road, with a few spots along the route. I parked about 200 meters after the snake road coming from Cortina. From there, you can fly your drone, but be aware of trees and the risk of losing signal. This shot was taken at the legal drone height limit.
