Italy Teatro Andromeda
In Santo Stefano Quisquina, in the province of Agrigento, on an overhanging plateau nestled in the vastness of the Sicilian hinterland, stands one of the most evocative works of contemporary art ever created by human hands: the Theater of Andromeda. It was built almost entirely by hand, beginning in the 1970s, by the visionary shepherd-sculptor Lorenzo Reina. The work is identified by many as sacred art, in its most archaic and ancestral form. In fact, the theater is located on a hill where the shepherd used to take his flock as a child, a mystical place where positive energy is released and which seems almost like a gateway to another world.
