The Temple of Hadrian is an ancient Roman structure on the Campus Martius in Rome, Italy, dedicated to the deified emperor Hadrian by his adoptive son and successor Antoninus Pius in 145 CE.

Photography Tips

It’s hard to get a clean shot of the temple—there are huge crowds of tourists at all hours, and the wall is massive while the surrounding plaza is relatively small, making it nearly impossible to fit the entire structure in the frame, even with a 14mm lens. Because of the large number of people, it’s best to try to include them in the frame. Since I couldn’t frame the entire wall from the front, I found a side angle and tried to compose a shot that incorporated the people, the lines of the temple, and the street.
