Kenya Elephants outside the National Park, Amboseli

Especially in the early morning hours, you can still spot many elephants outside the park without paying the national park entrance fee. To do so, follow the C103 turnoff about 100 meters before the gate, then turn onto the gravel roads along the Maasai villages.

The elephants sleep near the trees and usually don't go to the waterholes and swamps in the park itself until mid-morning. A great alternative!

Don´t disturb wildlife, pay attention to your sounds and put them off, if you have the chance. Do not shoot with a flashlight!

For this spot you need to ask your driver if it is fine for him to drive outside the National Park before entering the park itself. It's a nice chance to have wildlife for yourself without any other cars.
