About the location
Constructed between 1801 and 1811, the cathedral was designed by Andrey Voronikhin to resemble St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, featuring 96 massive Corinthian columns that curve outward toward the city's main thoroughfare. For photographers, this unique shape creates a powerful leading line that draws the eye toward the central dome. The surrounding square is a hub of activity, providing opportunities for street photography and urban life shots set against a dramatic historical backdrop.
