Netherlands Kuiperspoort
De Kuiperspoort is a street in Middelburg in the province of Zeeland. The name refers to the Coopers' Guild that was established here in the 17th century. [1]
The narrow street is covered with cobblestones and has an exit on Dam Square and on the other side a gate that leads to Rouaansekaai. The gatehouse dates from 1586 and was purchased in 1642 by the cooper guild. Most of the buildings, including the warehouses dating back to the time of the VOC, were restored in the 1970s, while the facades were preserved.
