The mound (Terp) from Leidschenveen is the name of the former mound for garbage in Leidschenveen, nowadays partly serves as a noise barrier. Laurens Kolks and Dennis Lohuis designed a real work of art in 2009. The small white church on top of the mound is empty inside and cannot be viewed from inside as its empty and has no particular function.

Photography Tips

The Terp is located between busy streets and in the middle of a residential area where, especially during sunset, the kids go up the hill and sit at the front of the chapel. Just be patient, they will eventually go away :-) if you are interested in bnw long exposure any time of the day is fine, just look for a cloudy day.
I have chosen the composition that includes the railing of the bridge but of course there are many composition all around the mound.

Travel Information

There is enough parking space on Vrouw Avenweg but if you choose to arrive with public transportation, you can take the train from The Hague railway station and get off at the station Leidschenveen
