New Zealand Wharariki Beach
Wharariki Beach is the northernmost point of the South Island of New Zealand. A beautiful beach west of Cape Farewell.
Photography Tips
The best time to visit is at low tide, when you can walk the length of the beach and take in spectacular coastlines, caverns, islands, and enormous sand dunes along the way.
Take a good tripod and maybe something to cover your camera with you, it´s very windy with a lot of sand flying around.

Travel Information
The beach is an hour away from Takaka. You can drive the highway 60 and the Collingwood-Puponga Main Rd. up to Puponga in the north and then follow the Wharariki Rd. to a parking spot next to a farm. Then you can walk along a path (around 20-30min.) up to the beach.
