New Zealand Mount Angelus Peak, Nelson Lakes National Park
Nelson Lakes National Park offers different multi-day hiking options with lots of huts in a far distance. From Angelus Hut, which is surrounded by mountains on a beautiful lake, you have the chance to climb Angelus Peak. Once you reach the saddle, the trail branches off around Sunset Saddle and the peak. The last section is pretty step but for sunset so worth it to climb.
Photography Tips
Place a person for scale and use the 1/3 line for a good composition.
For some nice layer shots you should wait until the light is not so hard anymore. Use a telezoom-lens. I took the second picture with my 100-500mm.

Travel Information
Start your hiking at Mt. Robert Circuit Carpark. Two different trails lead the way up to Angelus Hut which is about 11.3km with around 1050 meter of elevation one way. It is a challenging hike. From the hut you need around 2.8 kilometers with around 500 meters of elevation to the Angelus peak. The marked spit is 200 meters below the peak. Until here the trail is moderate and good doable. If you want to go further to the peak it is very steep at the end and sometimes slippery. You definitely need experience in the mountains to get to this hut.
You need to reserve the Angelus hut before you go. The department of conversation as a professional homepage with all important informations: https://www.doc.govt.nz/
