New Zealand Mountains around Lake Angelus, Nelson Lakes National Park

Nelson Lakes National Park offers different multi-day hiking options with lots of huts in a far distance. Angelus Hut is surrounded by mountains on a beautiful lakeside.

You can try to find a lower perspective that the gras gets a nice golden glow.

Start your hiking at Mt. Robert Circuit Carpark. Two different trails lead the way up to Angelus Hut. This 22.6 km out-and-back trail with 1050 meter of elevation is a challenging hike and requires a certain level of fitness.
