New Zealand Alex Knob Peak, Franz Josef Glacier
Alex Knob Track offers great views on the Franz Josef Glacier and the surrounding mountains. On your first kilometer you hike through a sick green jungle forest with crazy low-hanging moss-covered trees. After you are coming out of the bush line you will get beautiful mountain valley views. At the end of the track you will get stunning views like this on the picture.
Photography Tips
This spot at the peak is the highest point. Therefore use the first light of the day for a nice glow that is coming from the left. It is perfect cause the light is not to hard and you will create perfect contrasts between the blue discolored glacier and the orange discolored gras in the foreground.
If you use a tele-zoom lens you can get minimalistic shots from the glacier ice.
