The Hokitika gorge offers brilliant turquoise water fringed with stark white limestone cliffs and lush green rainforest. Next to the river and the gorge you can find nice perspectives like this curved bride that leads you through the rainforest.

Photography Tips

Work with the lines of the handrails. It gives you more dynamic and a good leading through your image it they are coming from down right or left.

Travel Information

Here are a lot of parking places available. In March 2025 one of the walks was closed cause a suspension bridge was under construction.
