Mount Luxmore is the highest point on the Kepler Track, rewarding hikers with spectacular panoramic views over Lake Te Anau, Fiordland's rugged mountains, and the surrounding alpine landscape. The trail climbs through lush beech forest before emerging above the treeline into a dramatic alpine environment.

Photography Tips

When you are alone and you want to take a photo of yourself for the adventure character or you want just some scale, take a tripod and set your camera to a self-timer shutter or interval-mode with photos every few seconds. Hence, you get a variety of shots of yourself.

Travel Information

The hike to Mount Luxmore begins at the Kepler Track car park near Te Anau, just a 10-minute drive from the town centre. You can reach the summit as part of a full-day hike or an overnight stay at Luxmore Hut on the Kepler Track.
