New Zealand Little Hill, Godley Valley

The Godley Valley is a remote alpine valley at the northern end of Lake Tekapo, renowned for its braided glacial rivers, vast tussock plains, and dramatic mountain scenery. Surrounded by the towering Southern Alps and fed by the Godley Glacier, the valley offers a true wilderness experience. A bit in the valley, you will find this little hill rising above from which you have an absolute fantastic elevated position to capture stunning images of the valley and the rivers.

If the rivers starting majorly from the corners of the frame, you create a good sense of a leading line.

The main river, the Godley River, flows through the valley into the northern end of Lake Tekapo, accompanied by tributaries such as the Macaulay River. The best access is via Lilybank Road from Lake Tekapo. This area is no joke!! Only go if you feel comfy in overloading. There will be no help if stuck and almost no reception. Take a beacon with you.
