Bring a 70-200 zoom lens, as the lighthouse is a little farther away. You have to lay down on your belly, if you want the water prominently in the frame. be aware, there are usually boats anchored and the pier is afloat. Be cautious not to fall in the water.

If you come with a cruise ship, walk to the Ålesund harbor. its about a 20min walk.
