Portugal Guindaste Viewpoint, Faial, Madeira
Guindaste Viewpoint (locally "Miradouro do Guindaste") in Faial on Madeira is a beautiful vantage point is the tip of the rocky area looking into the ocean to capture the rocks lying shortly beneath the sea level. It is very suitable for placing a person in the picture.
Photography Tips
Use a wide-angle lens. On clear days I recommend coming here during sunrise. Use a tripod and some ND filters to create short expourse times around 1/2 to 2 secs to give tha waves some time to form around the rocks.
Travel Information
The car parking is right at the spot and marked on the map, to the very tip of the rock formation you need to walk 200m. Make sure it is not too wet on the day because it can get muddy and slippery. If it is wet, use the alternative composition shown in other descriptions.
