Portugal Mosteiros Beach & Sea Stacks
Praia de Mosteiros is hands down one of the best sunset locations on the island. Famous for its dark volcanic sand and the massive rock formations rising out of the Atlantic ocean, this spot delivers insane golden hour colors. The wet beach reflects the burning sky, making it a dream for dramatic coastal shots.
Photography Tips
Gear: A focal range between 70–200mm works amazingly well here to compress the scene and make the sea stacks look huge against the colorful sky. A wider lens is also great if you want to capture the wet sand reflections and dark rocks in the foreground.
Timing: Plan to arrive at least 45 minutes before sunset. Stay until post-sunset (blue hour)—the colors often turn an intense, deep orange and pink long after the sun dips below the horizon.
