Romania Iezer lake at Pietrosu Rodnei
Iezer lake lies at about two thirds up to Pietrosu peak at Rodnei National Park. It is surrounded on three sides by steep mountains with a trail leading up to the peak. In July and August the Rhododendron and other wild flowers are blooming. We have also seen two families of alpine marmots on the way up.

Travel Information
It is possible to park at the Borsa Pietrosu Monastery's parking which is about 8km from the Pietrosu peak. Around 2/3rd of the way near the lake there is a designated place to raise tents. You can find water from the nearby springs but no food.
