Spain Far des Cap de Formentor, Mallorca
Wonderful lighthouse with serpentines at Cap de Formentor in the north of Mallorca.
A spectacular coastal viewpoint where winding roads lead toward a lighthouse overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
During sunrise, the first warm light slowly touches the cliffs and curves of the road, creating a peaceful and almost cinematic atmosphere.
This spot is perfect for photographers who enjoy dramatic landscapes, leading lines and seascapes with soft early morning light. The contrast between the rugged coastline and the calm sea makes this location especially photogenic.
The quietness of the early morning adds something special to the experience — a moment where nature and light come together beautifully.

Photography Tips
Being here very early in the morning is crucial for this spot but you will be rewarded with one of the most beautiful views on the island.
Sunrise is the best moment to photograph this location.
Arrive before first light to set up compositions in the dark blue hour.
A wide-angle lens works perfectly to emphasize the curves of the road leading toward the lighthouse.
The light changes quickly after sunrise, offering both soft pastel tones and warm golden light within minutes.
A tripod is useful for low-light conditions before sunrise and for panoramic shots.

Travel Information
Often traffic deadlock at lunchtime. Avoid the daytime. Too many tourists! This is also why the road to Formentor has been closed during the summer months, in 2023 from June to the end of September. So make sure to check when the road is actually closed. The only way to get there is by using a shuttle bus (line 334) or getting a taxi.
To get the best composition you will need to scale the rocks, take care or do not venture near the edge (huge drop into the ocean!), and wear good suitable footwear.
