Lenticular clouds form when stable, moist air encounters a large obstacle, such as mount Beerenberg 2272 meters above sea level.

You have to be lucky to encounter the right weather conditions as these clouds are very rare.

It is possible to travel to Jan Mayen, but it's not easy and access is highly restricted. Jan Mayen is a Norwegian territory, and while Norwegian citizens can visit, they need to contact the station commander before arrival. Foreign citizens must obtain permission from Norwegian authorities. Independent travel is practically impossible due to the lack of ports, airports, and regular transport.
