Hiking around Lake Natron is a great experience, with trails shaped by lava, heat, and water. The scenery is dominated by the towering Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano and the surrounding mountains. With a bit luck some Massai people are around. You can have a nice chat with them.

Photography Tips

In my eyes it is a nice photo motive to get some Massai people in foreground with a strong mountain panorama background. Use a tele-zoom lens for these shots.

In the area are three camps that you can book for your stay. You can see them in GoogleMaps. Often you can book your stay with a tour operator who can bring you all the way to the lake.

Hiking around lake Natron can be very hard during the day. Always take a look at the weather forecast and the heat.
