The spot where I took these shots is currently the building site for the tallest (not the most elegant) building in the City. When it opens, see if you can get in. Failing that, there is the Sky Garden on the nearby Walkie Talkie Building.

Horizon 22, AKA 22 Bishopsgate, is right beside it, but the public gallery on the top floor is too high for shots like these.
Each side gives its own special views: Saint Pauls cathedral, sometimes with Gresham's golden grasshopper on a spike; the upper floors of the Lloyds building and the Shard, with an entrance to Leadenhall market in the foreground; Tower 42 and Heron Tower, although these are now obscured by Horizon 22, which was a building site when some shots were taken.

I got there because I was sent there to do a contract. I couldn't believe my luck.

Shooting from here often involves shooting through windows you can't clean but if you bring a coat to cover your camera, close to the window, you can, at least, reduce reflections. However, there is also a surprisingly effective reflection removal feature in the latest version of Lightroom Classic.

Bank Tube Station, exit 3 and walk down Threadneedle Street, past the Bank of England, or down Cornhill, past the Counting House pub, which has an interesting old interior.
