United Kingdom Rattray Head Lighthouse
The Rattray Head is located in the ocean close to the East coast of Scotland and is well known in the area around Aberdeen. You park your car at a small parking lot and walk through dunes to approach the lighthouse. The location is nice for an afternoon hangout with friends, walking along the beach, or to watch the sunrise.
Photography Tips
I used a tele zoom lens to capture the lighthouse in a close-up photo. It would have been nicer to have some waves but there wasn't a lot of wind the day I visited. You should also check the tides since the water level gets pretty low - you can almost walk up to the lighthouse. I prefer high tide when it's surrounded by water.
Travel Information
You park at the designated parking area and walk through the dunes towards the lighthouse. Impossible to miss since you can see it from the parking lot already. It's a flat walk but on the sand. might be tiring for some people.
