United Kingdom Fairy Pools, Isle of Skye
The "Fairy Pools" are on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. On the spot, you will find a lot of different waterfalls and very clear water.
Travel Information
Use post code IV47 8TA which will bring you along a narrow road to a car park suitable for a dozen or so vehicles. Further, parking is available on the road however this quickly fills up so you should aim to visit at the start (recommended) or end of the day. Do not underestimate how busy this location becomes pretty much all year round.
The path to the Fairy Pools is directly opposite the car park and is a very obvious, hard gravel track which initially leads downhill then gradually uphill. It is not a particularly challenging walk but people with mobility issues may struggle so should seek further guidance/advice before attempting this.
There are several waterfalls along the route and you are advised to leave around 3-4 hours to photograph them well. If you leave the path then wellies are recommended as the land is very boggy (I went knee-deep at one stage of the route). I would recommend sturdy wellies suitable for walking, or walking boots for the main paths for the extra support and protection these offers. It is around a 5km round trip between the car park and the main pools.
