Glenfinnan Church stands on the northern bank of Loch Shield directly on the A830 between the visitor center and the train station. The church was built in 1873 in the Gothic style in memory of the MacDonalds of Glenaladale family.

From the church, you have a wonderful view of the lake and with the beautiful church in the background, there are some worthwhile photo opportunities.

Photography Tips

You also can shoot the church from the ground but in that case, you miss the view over the loch and the mountains. Bring a very small drone because the church is located close to a hotel. So please be kind and don't disturb anyone.

Parking is right in front of the church, but not on Sundays due to service.
