United Kingdom Tower Bridge, London
This photo was taken from the Thames Path, directly in front of the Tower Bridge Wharf building in London. It’s a fantastic pedestrian viewpoint with a clear line of sight to Tower Bridge and The Shard. The area offers one of the city’s most iconic compositions – the historic bridge framed by modern London architecture, especially striking at sunset or blue hour.
Photography Tips
Twilight is the sweet spot here – shoot during the blue hour when the city lights come on but there’s still colour in the sky. A tripod is a must for longer exposures to keep reflections sharp and light trails clean. Use a mid to wide focal length (24–70mm works well) to capture the bridge, skyline and water. Reflections on the Thames can add great texture, especially with still water. At a certain time of the year, I think it's August, you can catch the setting sun down the river behind the bridge.
Travel Information
The spot is easy to reach – head to Tower Hill or London Bridge station and walk down to the riverside. The viewpoint is right near the Royal Navy RIB Experience dock and is well-lit and accessible day or night. It’s popular but rarely overcrowded, so you’ll have time to set up and wait for the perfect light.
