United Kingdom Kindertransport – The Arrival
This poignant bronze statue at Liverpool Street Station commemorates the 10,000 Jewish children who arrived in the United Kingdom via the Kindertransport in 1938–1939, thereby escaping Nazi persecution. Unfortunately, many of them never saw their parents again, but the memorial serves as a powerful reminder of their courage and the sacrifices made for their safety. The second, smaller statue inside the station commemorates the 669 Jewish children rescued from Czechoslovakia. A similar statue stands at Prague’s main train station.
