I named this picture "Skeleton Church" because this rock of tufa remembers me of a natural church, but just a draft of its structure. In the far distance, the fire that was developing in Yosemite National Park gives the picture an apocalyptic guise. Another planet, or the future of our Planet.

Travel Information

Mono Lake is a large, shallow saline soda lake in Mono County, California, formed at least 760,000 years ago as a terminal lake in an endorheic basin. The lack of an outlet causes high levels of salts to accumulate in the lake. These salts also make the lake water alkaline.
