USA Bad Water, Death Valley
Very hot place! bring water if you want to stay longer outside. Photos get better shortly after the sun set.
The Badwater Basin, southeast of the centre of Death Valley National Park, is usually a dusty salt flat. There is a spring here, but because of the salt the water is unusable, i.e. bad water.
Heavy rain fell here in the winter of 2023/24. This has collected in the Badwater Basin, which has no outlet. As a result, there was a salt lake here and the water level had already dropped. Still the lake shined beautifully in green, turquoise and blue.
