The drive up Kolob Terrace Road is very scenic from Virgin, Utah to Cedar City. This spot is a few hundred yards south of the Hop Valley trailhead and overlooks the trail and the Kolob Canyons section of Zion National Park.

Photography Tips

A very photogenic area of slick rock and hoodoos called “Hoodoo City” is less than 1/2 mile north of this spot on the west side of the road. There are also several pullouts a few hundred yards beyond Hoodoo City that afford extraordinary views of the mountains of Zion National Park to the east.

Travel Information

From the turn-off at SR9 in Virgin, Utah drive 13 miles (21 km) to a spot on the side of the road where there’s room to pull over on the left side of the road. This spot is on a sharp bend in the road, so it’s best to drive beyond it and return so you can safely pull over.
