USA Mackinac Bridge
The Mackinac Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Straits of Mackinac to connect the Upper and Lower Peninsulas of the U.S. state of Michigan.
The US state of Michigan is ‘nestled’ between several of the Great Lakes. The northern part of the state, between Lake Superior in the north and Lake Michigan and Lake Huron in the south, is called the Upper Peninsula. The southern part, between Lake Michigan to the west and Lake Huron to the east, is the Lower Peninsula. The Mackinac Bridge spans the narrow section between Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. At the southern end of the bridge is Old Mackinac Point.
