Visitors with access to a boat will spend most of their time cruising the blue waters of Lake Powell but a drive down Highway 95 in Utah includes some of the most dramatic desert canyon landscape in the Western United States. There are dozens of spots along this road that deserve a quick stop or several hours. This is a photographer’s paradise.

Photography Tips

Both a wide or super wide lens works but you’ll occasionally want a telephoto lens.

Travel Information

Gravel pullout on the north side of highway 95, 2.1 miles (3.4 km) southeast of the Hite Crossing Bridge.
