William Randolph Hearst Memorial State Beach located near Hearst Castle. Beach is protected by a cove making for calm waters with a large beach area.

Photography Tips

If shooting in the afternoon, you will be shooting into the sun causing difficult lighting. Shooting black and white images will correct for this. Alternatively, shooting in the morning will give better lighting and illuminating the area under the pier.

Travel Information

Entrance road to beach is just opposite the road to the castle visitor center. There is a large parking lot with picnic tables.
