USA Neilson Wash

Nicely sculpted wash near Factory Butte that was full of water pockets that had a thin layer of ice on them when we were there. We were only able to get about 1/4 mile down the wash before we encountered a water pocket that we weren’t able to get around but what we were able to see was very photogenic.

Wide angle lens (10 thru 18mm) works best.

Travel Information

The wash intersects Factory Butte road twice. We dropped into the wash at the southern point, 1.8 miles/2.9km from Hwy. 24. Factory Butte Road (a.k.a. Coal Mine Road) is about 11 miles/17.7km west of Hanksville, Utah.
