USA Valley of the Gods
The Valley of the Gods is similar to Monument Valley. It is even more varied, just not as well "marketed". The dirt road through the park is just as miserabel. As public land, it is managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and no entrance fee is charged.
Photography Tips
To photograph the Valley of the Gods, shoot during golden hour to capture warm light on the red rock formations. Use a wide-angle lens to show the vast landscape and include a person or vehicle for scale. Take your time exploring the loop for the best angles, and consider drone shots if allowed.
Travel Information
The dirt road through the park has some extreme inclines and declines. For two-wheel drive vehicles and larger vehicles, e.g., motorhomes, it may not be passable along its entire length due to insufficient ground clearance. As the extreme sections are concentrated roughly in the centre of the route, it can be a good idea to drive as far as possible along both sides of this truly impressive park.
There are many opportunities for overnight camping in the park, and they are well utilised.
