The Cloud Gate in Chicago, also known as "The Bean", has a huge reflecting surface and is a very popular theme for photography and tourists. You can find the Cloud Gate on the city side of Millennium Park.

Photography Tips

There are always so many people at a blue hour that you should take many photos from the same place with a tripod. Afterwards, you can stamp out all things or people you don't want to have in your image. You just should set your settings manually to avoid different exposures, which makes post-processing a lot easier. I used 5 images for this final result - 4 to get rid of most of the people and 1 additional underexposed one for the highlights.

How did you extract the highlights from the underexposed photo. I am a newbie, and I have done exposure bracketing through lightroom, but all three images are almost exactly the same images at different exposures.. What to do if people walk in between ?

Hey dear Arun, I simply painted them in with layers and the exposure just for the lights needs to be quite short with your bracketing. I would also pay attention to the time which is why blue hour is usually better than complete darkness where it's usually harder to combine them because the contrast is higher. For the people I took the same long exposure for the main content quite a few times and then combined these photos. I was in Chicago just for a week, so I didn't have many options though. Did that help?
