During summer month there might be several other photographers around, comes fall, the numbers thin.
It can be windy, so sometimes the lake is not always a mirror, but walking along the south shore you can find spots where you can mirror Mt Hood in the lake.
Depending on the time of year you have more or less snow on Mt Hood.

Travel Information
From Government Camp OR, follow signs for Trillium Lake (about 15 minute drive). Campsites available during summer months. The campsite provides an easy access for an early morning shoot (you're probably alone at the moment)
Possibility to easily snowshoe to this lake makes it a good winter location as well.
There are two main spots to take pictures from, the south shore (Gabi Fulcher picture) or the jetty (seen in Gabi Fulcher picture on the right and Peter Luxem picture).
