Moonscape Overlook is a stunning, freely accessible viewpoint near Hanksville, Utah. Overlooking the dramatic badlands, the landscape resembles the surface of the moon. Situated close to Factory Butte, the overlook provides sweeping views across Blue Valley’s steep.

Travel Information

The viewpoint is accessible via unpaved, washboard dirt roads off Highway 24. Turn north onto Factory Butte Road and follow the wide gravel road for about 5–6 miles. Then turn right onto Skyline View Road (also known as Coal Mine Road) and continue up to the ridge where the overlook is located. A high-clearance vehicle is recommended.
