USA Stagecoach Butte
Stagecoach Butte is a sandstone formation just outside Monument Valley. Rising from the desert floor, it offers the same iconic red rock scenery as Monument Valley, but in a much quieter setting.
Photography Tips
At Stagecoach Butte, a telephoto lens works especially well to isolate the butte and compress the surrounding landscape. Sunrise and sunset bring out the warm colors and rock textures, while the open desert offers plenty of room to experiment with different compositions. Since the area is usually quiet, it's easy to take your time and find the angle that works best.
