Very steep street with great view through the city buildings to one of the towers of the Bay Bridge. Located next to the Fairmont Hotel.

Photography Tips

Best view is in the center of the street--better to try to catch a cable car going down the street if you can. Longer lens for compression. Shoot in the morning.

Travel Information

Tough to find parking but in the morning when you want to shoot this anyway (catch the sunrise through the buildings), less congested. Can always take a cable car to this place and then at least you'll be guaranteed to have the car in the view when you set up your shot.
Spot Type Outdoor
Crowd Factor A decent amount of people
Best Timing Sunrise

Amazing Shot! Could you tell me which focal length and lens you used? Thanks a lot.

Great shot. I don't recall ever seeing California Street with so few cars. This must have been very early in the morning.
