Austria Plansee, Tyrol
Plansee is one of the most idyllic lakes in Austria that should not be missed. This spot offers a fantastic view of the valley. During winter it's usually impossible to get there due to avalanche warnings.
Photography Tips
Use different kinds of lenses and go for sunrise. If you do so, it's recommended to do the hike up there during the day first to get a better feeling for the route and time you need to get there.
Travel Information
Paid parking is available near the bridge. To get to the photo spot itself, you need to cross the bridge and turn left until you see a wide riverbed. From there you can follow a narrow path up towards this place.
Alternative: Start the hike at the Plansee marina in the direction of Heiterwanger See. After about 500 meters there is a small turn without signs up high. Follow the trail for about 2 kilometers and 300 meters in altitude.
Be sure to wear long pants because of ticks.
