The Trattenkar lies high above in the mountains, the most famous montain beneath is Hochwildstelle (2747 m). Many small lakes (Kare) on high altitude contributes to the archaic landscape.

Photography Tips

This photo has been shot immediately after heavy snowfall in late summer. Don't carry too much with you, because there's only a steep path up to the Trattenkar from Rohrmoos-Untertal.

Travel Information

The next lodge for sleeping and dining is Preintaler Hütte, which belongs to Rohrmoos Untertal. From the lodge, there's a 2,5 h footwalk up to Trattenkar.
